THEATRE ROYAL WAKEFIELD have announced their new summer season line up which is full of headlining comedy, a strong programme of dance and quality music.

Highlights include comedy favourite Daniel Kitson (22 May) and First Friday Comedy returns to Wakefield’s Arts Centre (2 May, 6 June, 4 July). Headliners this season are Justin Moorhouse, Debra Jane Appelby and Duncan Oakley.

An exciting new festival is dancing its way into Wakefield starting 23 June, Moves – A Festival of Dance. The vibrant festival will be a week long event taking place at Theatre Royal Wakefield, Wakefield Arts Centre and Betty Chappelle’s Dance Studio. The festival will comprise of a programme of professional dance performances, alongside a programme of workshops delivered by highly acclaimed local and national dance companies such as Ballet Central, Richard Alston Dance Company and Momentum Dance.

Music is a strong feature of this season with visits from Clare Teal (23 April), Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers (19 April), The New Seekers… in perfect Harmony (10 May), and LEDD-ZEPP (20 June). Voulez Vous return to the theatre to perform their final concert after 17 years together (19 July).

Also this summer see Jane Bond (3 May), Abigail’s Party (17 & 18 April), the UK’s most successful Elvis Impersonator Elvis on Tour – The Legend Continues (Friday 23 and Saturday 24 May), brand new Sing-a-Long-a show Sing-a-Long-a Hairspray (21 June) and Locked out Productions present Fame (1 July).
